"Social truths" that suck

We never question the validity of some "social truths" and things in life which has always been there since we were born. When, in fact, these are mere social constructions which can be changed and amended.

For instance, renting homes. There was a time long ago when people are free to roam everywhere, but now homes have become a source of income (actually since the feudal era).

For another, paying for utilities. Electricity and water. At such ridiculous cost, when these are basic necessities to live decently. You don't have the money to pay, that's okay, because that's  life and there are other people like you. When in fact, the government ideally should provide its citizens these basic needs.

Education. We accept that public education sucks and that  we must strive to educate ourselves or our children in a better school. But education is a right that the state should provide to its children.

I could come up with a dozen other "social truths" which are, in fact, mere social propaganda seeking to retain the status quo of exploitation, profiteering and whatnot.

(Did I even make sense?)
